WEDDING TIPS

INVITATIONS

letter
• Once you have finalized the date for the wedding, it is time to draw up a preliminary guest list. Depending on the type of wedding chosen, you might want to quickly send out a "Save the Date" card to the people on your guest list to secure the day. Then quickly follow up with the invitation for them to r.s.v.p. By planning early, you would know exactly how many people would be turning up for the event and you can better plan your logistics for the event.

• Place a number discreetly on the lower corner of the back of your RSVP cards in case guests forget to fill in their name. Submitted by: Liene Stevens, Blue Orchid Designs Wedding & Events. 480-760-5029. www.blueorchidweddings.com.

• Put a website address on the card. This is to make things easier. If they can respond via your wedding website, it would help to speed up the process.

• While printing the wedding invitation cards, you might want to also prepare thank you cards which are mailed out after the event. In this way, you might be able to get a better deal as you are printing both sets of cards out at the same time.

• It is considered inappropriate to include in your invitations where you are registered. Instead, pass the word through family and friends. It's okay to tell someone if they ask you. Many people feel at a loss when choosing wedding gifts, and would prefer to purchase something you picked out yourself.
